Here are the rules for this forum. Please make sure that you read these very carefully before applying for a character here. This post will cover the general forum rules, application rules and roleplay rules, so be sure to read them down to every last word.
General Rules:
x What I say goes. Since I am the creator of this roleplay, my word is law here. If you go against my rules, you may land yourself a warning or a ban. I will not hesitate to punish people who break the rules.
x Report any issues. I want people to have fun in this roleplay. If you are having problems with other members, or with the site in general, please let me know (preferably through message). I will take the necessary actions to make your time here as enjoyable as possible.
x Be polite. Your character can be as much of a jerk as you want, but that doesn't mean you have to be. If I see any harassment going on, you will be issued with a warning or a ban, depending on the severity.
x This roleplay is PG-16. Now, we all know that there is going to be a lot of violence in this roleplay, since it's centered around a game with an age 18 certificate. But for the sake of everyone here, please don't go overboard. Violence and swearing are fine, as long as it doesn't get to really disturbing levels. This applies to romance, too. There may well be chemistry between characters, but if things start getting steamy, take it to messages.
x Keep OOC chat to the OOC board. If you wish to chat with another roleplayer out of character, that's what the OOC board is for. Try to limit OOC in IC posts, unless you are telling another roleplayer that you're getting off or something along those lines. All OOC posts IC MUST be bracketed.
Application Rules:
x Submit your application before roleplaying. The profile template is supplied in the applications board. Fill this out and wait for it to be accepted before roleplaying.
x Do not post until you are accepted. This relates to the above point. Until your character is accepted, you may not roleplay. If I catch anyone posting before they're accepted, they'll be banned.
x OCs are allowed. I fully encourage the applications of original characters here. But if they are found to be mary-sue, they will be rejected faster than Francis can say "I hate mary-sues".
x Pairings are also allowed. But please, PLEASE don't just say that character x is in a relationship with character y in your application, unless they are both OCs/canon characters and both roleplayers have agreed to it. If you want your OC to be paired with a canon character, you have to have them interact IC before they get together. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense. On that note, you cannot claim a canon character as your OC's boy/girlfriend.
x You can apply for Infected characters. Yes, this includes Special Infected. However, I am going to limit the amount of Witches and Tanks that are accepted, simply because they are extremely powerful. Most Infected will be NPCs; for example, you may say "a horde of zombies approaches character x/a Hunter pounces character y" in a post. But if you really want to apply for an Infected, you have to be aware that they be targeted by Survivors and most likely killed.
Roleplaying Rules:
x Literacy. Use it. While both script and para style roleplaying are fine, please use proper spelling and grammar in your posts. We'd like to be able to understand what you are saying.
x No one-liners. Small posts don't make for good roleplays, and don't give other roleplayers enough to derive their own posts from. Please, at least 2 or 3 lines can't hurt. If you have writer's block, short posts are understanded. But please make an effort to make a decent post. If you're stuck for ideas, why not mention the character's senses? What they can see, hear, feel, taste and/or smell? Simple things like this can make a post more descriptive, and gives us an idea about what your character feels.
x Godmodding and powerplaying are not allowed. Both of these are gigantic no-nos when it comes to fighting another roleplayer's character IC. If I see any godmodding or powerplaying going on, you'll be asked to edit your post. If you refuse, you'll get a warning or a ban.
x Auto-hits are allowed, but not advised. Depending on the situation, auto-hitting may be okay; for instance, if you're shoving a Hunter off another Survivor. However, it is polite to at least give the other roleplayer a chance to hit back or dodge.
x Stick to your applications. What I mean by this is that you cannot have your characters have an ability that isn't stated in your application. Like your character cannot just bust out some mad martial arts skills, unless they are trained to do so as stated in your application.
And that's the rules! Keep in mind that more rules may be added later. All I ask is that you abide by these, and we'll all have a nice time here.
